First partie : Sheenah Ko “Transformation”
Sheenah Ko is an Irish-Chinese producer and composer based in Saguenay. Having built a successful career as a touring keyboardist, Ko boasts over a decade of experience performing headlining shows internationally with acts such as The Besnard Lakes, Bedouin
Soundclash, and Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies). Now she is channeling her talents into producing sonically rich and harmonious music, fusing her skills in analog synthesizers, vocals and beat production. Her music takes the listener on a captivating voyage, traversing atmospheric and reflective dreamscapes before bursting into moments of ecstatic,
high-energy fun. Ko’s music is a fusion of diverse influences, including remnants of the UK electronic scene, the bold uniqueness of Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, and Bjork, the etherealnessof Julee Cruise and Enya, and the surrealism of Boards of Canada and Angelo Badalamenti. With her debut album ‘Nowhere In Time in 2020,’ Ko dove into the spotlight earning a Top 10 placement on the NCRA Canadian Campus Radio Electronic charts. The music video for her single ‘Wrap Me Up’ triumphed at the UK Music Video Awards in 2021, taking home the
award for Best Choreography and garnering a nomination for Music Video of the Year at the 2021 Juno Awards. Less than 2 years later, Ko released her sophomore album, ‘Future Is Now,’ produced from
her new home in Saguenay. The album, featuring final co-production touches by Steeven Chouinard (Le Couleur) and Ryan Battistuzzi, was accompanied by 7 visually stunning music videos. Two of these videos received award nominations, and the album itself was awarded
Pop Album of the Year at the 2023 GAMIQ (Quebec Independent Music) awards.
